#25 Ann DUNRICH – 52 Ancestor Challenge

No Story Too Small – Amy Johnson Crow’s challenge of 52 Ancestors this year, has been the inspiration to writing up my family history stories.

My 4th great grandmother Ann DUNRICH was baptized 30 January 1769 at Antony, Cornwall. Her parents were John DUNRICH and Mary BLAKE.

On the 6th of September 1787 at Antony/Torpoint, Cornwall she married Abraham ROBERTS.

It appears that the first child of this couple was Elizabeth ROBERTS born 14 June 1787 at Torpoint, Cornwall. But she was not baptized until January 23, 1839 at Stoke Damerel, Devon.

Then came a son, Lazarus ROBERTS born 19 August 1790 Antony, Cornwall. He was baptized 5 September 1790 at Stoke Damerel, Devon. And then oddly, he was baptized again at Stoke Damerel but this time on 2 June 1810 with his birth listed as 19 August 1790.

Abraham ROBERTS senior was very involved in the rope making trade and moved to Bermondsey, Surrey, where son Abraham was baptized on March 18 1794.

Daughter Mary ROBERTS was baptized at Bermondsey on 13 October 1796.

Daughter Ann ROBERTS was also baptized at Bermondsey on the 19th of January 1799.

Ann ROBERTS was buried on 30 May 1801 at Bermondsey. The death of her husband Abraham ROBERTS a few years later, left the young children alone and they were brought to Plymouth to be looked after by their aunt.

#24 Abraham ROBERTS – 52 Ancestors Challenge

No Story Too Small – Amy Johnson Crow’s challenge of 52 Ancestors this year, has been the inspiration to writing up my family history stories.

Last year I finally found my 4th great grandfather Abraham ROBERTS who was baptized 21 October 1764 at Antony, Cornwall. His father was Abraham ROBERTS and his mother was Rachel JAMES.

On the 6th of September 1787, he married Ann DUNRICH at Antony/Torpoint, Cornwall.

Daughter Mary ROBERTS was baptized at Bermondsey on 13 October 1796.

Daughter Ann ROBERTS was also baptized at Bermondsey on the 19th of January 1799.

Abraham ROBERTS was buried at Southwark on 1 February 1806.

Since his wife had been buried a few years earlier, the children were brought to Plymouth to be looked after by their aunt.
